I got to see the Milky Way in Joshua Tree National Park. I've never been able to see it because the night pollution obscures the light near my home. That alone made the trip out here worth it.

Date: 2016-10-01 03:10 pm (UTC)It was fascinating laying on my back on a picnic bench just watch the stars in the middle of the desert, miles from the light pollution from any big city. I was able to see a lot of detail that I can't normally see. My brother and I must have been there for a half hour just watching the skies. It does make our own world seem a little smaller.
