(no subject)
Nov. 25th, 2018 09:09 pmMy usual rule about holiday cards, for anyone that has my address: I never send out cards, because I can never get my shit together before the holidays. I don't expect holiday cards in return. If you do choose to send one to me, thank you. If not, I won't be hurt in the least.

My brother flew back to New Jersey with his wife. I drove down, and we all spent the holiday weekend from Wednesday night to Saturday morning at my parent's house. Things remained remarkably peaceful for most of the weekend. I joined my brother and his wife in visiting two of my cousins, and I left them to see some of the local sights on their own.
The only really stressful point was when my mom started insisting that I stop to buy some flowers for my one cousin and his wife, which seemed kind of crazy. I was able to get her to back off, thankfully, and she dropped the subject.
I spent most of Saturday and all of today recuperating, since I was all people'd out. I barely left the apartment except to do laundry.

My brother brought up a good point while he was here: my dad needs to get moving on finishing up his projects around the garage and selling them off. If he doesn't finish before he's too old to do it by himself, I know my brother and I are going to be stuck getting rid of all his various small engines and motors and generators and whatever other machines he might have. We're probably just going to call a wrecker to take it all and trash it.
