Aug. 1st, 2018 09:06 pmMy brother flew down from Los Angeles for a few days to do financial stuff that I wish I had a head for but don't. So they took care of a bunch of retirement planning together. I am thanking the gods that I don't have to deal with this, because there is no way that I could handle it.
Also, the four of us had dinner together as a family, something we don't get a chance to do often. My brother and his wife are looking to buy a place, but the real estate market in southern California is absolutely brutal. They've had to pass on a number of properties that were either too expensive or that just plain sucked. But they're still looking.

We had some ass-clown client come in yesterday demanding drawings that we were still working on. My boss told him that they'd probably be done by around 10 am today. My boss speaking to him on the phone:
"So I'll come in at 10 am then, and they'll be ready."
"No, don't come until I call you"
"But if you said the drawings will be ready at 10..."
"No! I said they might not be ready at exactly 10:00. It might take a little longer, for whatever reason. We send our drawings out to a print shop to be printed."
"OK, I'll wait for your call before I come."
Next morning, we hadn't called the client because the prints were delayed in getting here. The client showed up anyway. My boss hadn't come in yet at this point.
"Where are my prints?"
"They haven't arrived from the printers. We will reach out to the printers to see when they can get here."
"Well, I'm annoyed because blah blablah blablah. Give me your boss's cell phone number. I'll wait in my car and I'm going to give him a call."
Client goes back to his car. In the meantime, the drawings arrive, we seal them (which we have to do for drawings that are for submission to the building department), my boss shows up, he talks to the client a bit. Client, clearly irritated, comes up and picks up the drawings, then leaves.
Ah, crazy people are awesome... If it wasn't for my job, I would have just sat there finding ways to get under his skin.
