Oct. 2nd, 2015 11:27 pm- Wow. It's actually kind of cold out. I just pulled out a sweater.
- I finally got bloodwork done last week, and went to see my regular doctor today.
The good news: My blood sugar (which I was really worried about) went down. I'm still in the prediabetic range, but I'm at the very low end of the range. Also, the doxepin didn't screw with absorption of the thyroid meds quite as badly as I thought it did.
The bad news: I gained back 2/3 of the weight I lost, thanks to the doxepin. Also, my cholesterol was still a little high.
So until I can find a new psychiatrist, my regular doctor switched me to Lexapro, which in theory won't cause me to put on weight. And I'm once again taking trazodone to help me fall asleep. And finally, Lipitor to lower my cholesterol a bit. If I lose weight again, that will probably help the cholesterol come down, and then I can stop the Lipitor.
I was also given a device that I'm supposed to wear overnight to check for sleep apnea. I'm a little curious at this, because although I know I snore, I do feel rested when I wake up. It will be interesting to find out what this will turn up. I'm supposed to give the unit back to the doctor's office tomorrow morning.
Anyhow...
- Also, a pipe started leaking yet again in my apartment. Two years ago, they replaced the main hot water line, which caused a number of leaks I had in my ceiling a few years ago. They didn't replace the branch lines at the time, so . So I walked past my coat closet and noticed it was oddly humid. I don't think it had been that way long when I noticed it, fortunately.
This morning, I called out of work. The building super wanted to try to contact the people who live upstairs from me to make sure that they didn't knock something over. I probably wouldn't have an answer until Tuesday which, frankly, wasn't good enough. I also know the pipe had been patched in the past. I asked the super to break the ceiling open. Sure enough, the pipe was dripping from a pinhole leak.
So now it's temporarily patched, and they will bring plumbers in to replace the segment of pipe sometime next week.
Blah.
