Aug. 9th, 2015 07:18 pmToday ended up being the first day in about a month that I've truly had to myself, so I decided to take a break and vegetate a bit. Between the usual workweek, helping out my friend with the amputated foot for a full day every weekend, and my parents generally nagging me about something the other day every weekend, I just hadn't had any time to tune out, and it was starting to catch up to me.
In any case, my friend got his prosthetic two weeks ago and he's been slowly but surely building up to walking around and being independent, so I won't need to go down there for a full day every weekend. That gives me more time to rest and recover from the week. I did manage to do a little bit of badly-needed cleaning, since that tends to stop when I get busy. Not as much as I need to do, but I put a dent in it. And at least my bathroom is clean now.

About two months ago I felt my thyroid symptoms coming back, building to a crescendo about a month ago. Now they seem like they might have eased off on their own. I really wonder what that's all about. (I stopped taking some supplements that I suspect were interacting with them, but it took kind of a long time for things to return to normal.)
I stopped losing weight about the time the thyroid issue started kicking up, and rebounded a little bit. So from a low point of 209 lb/95 kg, I rebounded to 213 lb/97 and stayed there for a while. I'm not really happy about the rebound, but it isn't that much and I'm still nowhere near the 225 lb/102 kg I was at the beginning of December.

I'm going to miss seeing clips of Jon Stewart from the Daily Show in my news feed. Although he's normally associated with politics, here's one of his monologues from a few years ago, about a different topic.
