Feb. 6th, 2015 07:03 pmAs of yesterday afternoon, jury duty is over. A verdict was arrived at. The defendants were quite pleased; the plaintiff, not so much.
The plaintiff's lawyer looked dumbfounded, like he had been hit in the head with a baseball bat. I think he was expecting an easy win, and he got his client nothing. He put a valiant effort into his case, but the facts are the facts. Sorry, dude.

We perfected our impressions of one of the defense attorneys while I was serving on the jury. He had a lot of odd mannerisms, like tossing his head back and side to side, picking up his pencil and putting it down so it was exactly perpendicular to him, and punctuating his statements with "So" or "Now." It was a great way to keep ourselves entertained on breaks during the trial.
Mannerisms aside, the guy was an excellent attorney. I'd want him representing me, if need be.

My boss texted me yesterday saying that I didn't need to come in today because the client wasn't ready to let me into the building. She's supposed to get back to me as to whether I am supposed to come in on Monday. So I get a day to chillax, and I don't have to start my workweek on a Friday.
