► The epic snowstorm that had the entire northeast US turned out to be kind of a bust for most areas. I went to sleep last night thinking there was going to get 24 inches/60 cm of snow on the ground, and woke up to see only 6 to 8 inches/15 to 20 cm on the ground. It's great that nothing serious occurred, but at the same time it's kind of anticlimactic to expect a big event and wind up with a dud. Meh.

► I'm still stuck on this jury duty thing, and probably will be for another two weeks or so. It's starting to get a little repetitive, with expert witness after expert witness saying slightly different shades of the same thing over and over again. Even so, it is an interesting experience.

► Since I did such a good job setting up my parent's computer, I was volunteered to help my dad's friend set up his computer. At least I got coffee and a donut out of it. Blah.

► Speaking of donut, the diet is wearing me thin. So far, I have mostly not had a problem with the egg breakfast, the salad lunch, or the fruit-and-small protein snack. But I can't keep up with dinner.

I was mostly able to keep up with the dinner before I started working. But working (or, for that matter, jury duty) takes it out of me. I just don't have it in me to consistently prepare dinner for myself, and I find myself reverting to eating out a lot. She gave me one "cheat meal" a week. That turned into four or five "cheat meals" a week. Steaming veggies went right out the window. I've baked for myself a few times since I started working, but I'm often just not up to it.

I'm not eating hamburgers and pizza every day, at least. I figure if I get Chinese chicken stir fry with brown rice, and then maybe add more of my own veggies to it, I can approximate a healthy meal and it isn't horribly expensive. I'm trying not to, but sometimes I end up eating Hot Pockets or some other TV dinner, again, adding my own veggies.

I see the nutritionist again at the end of February. I need to talk to her about meal options that I can deal with. This is going to be an interesting meeting.
