So far, I've had only one session with him, and it's the "getting to know you" session, so I can't tell yet whether anything will come of this. If it helps, great. If not, at least I can say I tried it.
(Minor note, since I have friends who occasionally read who are therapists: Please don't be offended that I didn't go to you. It's not that I don't like or trust my friends, but I would prefer to work with someone I don't know IRL. It's for my own privacy, and it's because I want a counselor with a neutral frame of reference.)
♦ I also saw the psychiatrist today. No news there, continue with the antidepressant.
♦ Since I'm my parents' de facto IT guy, I got the happy task of getting a new printer for my parents. The ink cartridge carriage broke, and the little electrical contact pins wouldn't make contact with the contact pads on the ink cartridge any more. I almost couldn't convince my father that it wasn't possible or even worth it to fix the printer, until he went to the store and realized a new printer/scanner only cost $80. So I got them set up, and they were good to go.
♦ On that note, I'm trying to figure out what my parents have been printing to be going through a print cartridge every two months. I typically go through a print cartridge every two years. It's probably my mom, who has been going through recipes like crazy ever since she figured out how to look them up online a few years ago.
