Jul. 29th, 2013 12:01 am-I had an appointment with the shrink yesterday. Apparently, he and a lot of doctors had been fighting the manufacturers of Viibrid (the medication I'm on) because the dosing the manufacturer is providing is WAAAAAY too high. The minimum dosage that is available is 10 mg/day. All of my doctor's patients that are on this medication are taking a tiny fraction of that amount every day.
When my doctor started me on this medication, he gave me a starter pack with seven 10 mg pills and seven 20 mg pills, which is theoretically supposed to be a two-week supply. In reality, this package of pills is going to be a 10-month supply of medication. So far, I used up the 10 mg pills and am now going to start using the 20 mg pills. Other than figuring out how to divide a small oval pill into 16 doses, this medication is working great for me. More importantly, it's not causing me to gain weight. I'll stick with this drug and this dosage. The drug manufacturer isn't going to make any money off of me at this rate, but that's not my problem.
-I'm still out of work. I'm going to have to send another round of resumes out, and follow up on the ones I had already sent out. This unemployment thing is moving past the "ooh I get to sleep in" phase and into the "this is really boring" phase. What I ultimately hope happens is that my old employer calls me back saying he has work. But if that doesn't happen, I'm prepared.
