🩺 This past Thursday, I had an appointment with my endocrinologist. All my doctors (except for my psychiatrist) are part of the same practice, and they just moved across town to a new location. Apparently, they hadn't totally unpacked and settled in yet, because everything was still up in the air. I got there, and because they had network problems earlier, they got me in and then I sat in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours. Then the doctor saw me and we went over my bloodwork. Great.

She asked me if I would like a flu shot? I haven't had mine yet, so I said sure. Mistake... It took another hour before the nurse came around and actually gave me the shot.

Then I went to the front desk to set up my next appointment, and... network problems again. The front desk computer wasn't connecting. I was going to leave to go back to work, but then she yelled back to me and said she got it to work on a different computer deeper in the office. So I was thankfully able to set my appointment.

All told, almost three hours wasted at the doctor's office. :/

🪐 As you may have heard, the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn is coming. I went out and bought a pair of 10X50mm binoculars, and I was able to see both planets tonight. My hands were shaking a bit, though, making the planets hard to keep in view. I will have to try again in the next few days, hopefully somewhere further from New York City so there's less light pollution. Hopefully I can also find a way to hold the binoculars more steady so I can more easily keep the planets in view.

The actual conjunction falls on December 21, but will be visible for a few days before and after that date. This video gives a lot of information based in Exeter, England. Depending on your latitude, your viewing angle will probably be better than what is stated in the video. The further south, the better the viewing angle.

I would suggest using an app such as Night Sky to help you find the actual locations of Jupiter and Saturn, so you know where to look.
