I started mowing, and by the time the bag was full of clippings, I was absolutely exhausted and my heart was pounding. I had to stop and rest. So that's what I did - mow a bit, stop and rest, mow some more, stop and rest, mow some more, stop and rest. And I got the backyard done that way. I guess I'm still not totally recovered from COVID.
I'm glad I started in the backyard, which is more technically challenging because the ground slopes down to the fence by our neighbors behind us, which would have been very difficult for my dad to manage. My dad ended up mowing the front lawn, which is flatter and easier on his hip. Also, the lawnmower is self-propelled, so it pulls itself along while my dad just walks behind it and directs it. Between the two of us, we got the job done.
☠ I did get a call from my doctor's office that my chest x-ray came back normal. So that's a good bit of news.
