Jul. 1st, 2018 07:36 pmLong time, no post. I'm a bad DW/LJ'er. You may all commence beating me with an overcooked spaghetti. Sorry if I've been boring.
I took my car in for its first scheduled service. The salesman who sold me the car saw me and, surprisingly, remembered me, even though it was over six months later. Ever the salesman, he came over to say hello, and we chatted a little bit. (Plus he was adorable, so I didn't mind talking to him, haha) Normally, I do my own car maintenance, but they offered the first oil change on the house. And since we're in the middle of a heat wave, I was happy to let someone else take care of it.
I would have been content to stay home in the air conditioning all day today, since the temperature was supposed to hit 100*F/39*C, but boredom got the best of me, and I went for a drive. Since they just reopened the Pulaski Skyway after it had been closed northbound for four years, I took a ride northbound across that, got lunch at a diner in Union City, and then came back a different way.
My parents went on a brief vacation, and I got the honor of dropping them off at the airport and then picking them up when they got back. Mom nagged me the whole way to the airport, she called halfway through to nag me, and then she nagged me the whole way home. Blah. Lucky I can tune her out. And I know she means well.
Didn't go to NYC Pride again this year. With the migraines and the meds I'm on, I don't think I have the energy to do a big event like that. I was at Asbury Park early last month, and I'll probably hit other smaller ones in the area as they happen.
