Sorry that I've been kind of absent of late, just that between work and the perpetual headaches I haven't had as much energy as I'd like to be active here. I'm reading but not really responding much.
I finally got to see a neurologist about the headaches. He agrees with my assessment that the flu shot could have caused some inflammation around the brain that set off the headaches. Since the Luvox that I'm taking seems to be helping the headaches, he suggested I try a higher dose. But a higher dose will probably turn my brain to scrambled eggs, so I declined. He also suggested a few other drugs which I know have nasty side effects (amitriptyline, depakote, topiramate, etc.) which I also declined.
He then suggested that I try a combination of vitamin B2 and magnesium glycinate, because that can help migraine sufferers. (My headaches aren't migraines per se, but there do seem to be shared characteristics.) And L-methylfolate to increase the effect of the Luvox. So I ended up spending $50 at the Vitamin Shoppe buying all of these supplements. I'll let you know if they start to work.
By the way, vitamin B2 makes you pee fluorescent yellow. And if you ever let the air out of a tire, and the air had that weird stale smell from being in the tire for so long? That's what magnesium supplements taste like. And you will be burping up that taste for the rest of the day.
Oh, and I'm supposed to get an MRI done. I found a place near me that does them, I just need to make the call them and schedule one.
So blah. Blaaaaaah.
