It was already 84*F/29*C and humid when I left my house for work. By the time I made my 15-minute walk to the bus stop, I was dripping with sweat. And of course the bus stop is on the sunny side of the street, and it was another 10 minutes before the bus made its way down the road. Thankfully, the air conditioning was strong on the bus, and the rest of the day was uneventful. And for the walk home from the bus stop, the sun was pretty low in the sky so I was in the shade most of the way.

I seem to be settling in pretty well at work. I'm now knee-deep in a bunch of assignments, and I'm keeping up ok. The place is well-managed, and I'm getting a manageable amount of work at a time. The last place I was at was a bit of a pressure cooker, so this is a refreshing change of pace.

At this company they maintain a fairly strict set of CAD standards, which I'm not really used to. It's good for consistency, but it's a bit of a steep learning curve. I think once I get the hang of it, I'll be alright.
