Feb. 21st, 2015 09:21 pm■ I like the new job, except that getting into downtown Newark in the dead of winter is getting to be a pain in the ass. The 3/4 mile walk to the bus stop in 3*F/-16*C weather yesterday morning was frigid, to say the least, and I don't really have a lot of cash to splurge on parking. Blah. Spring will be here soon enough...
The job is definitely enjoyable, though. There are only eight people in the office, and everyone seems friendly. Right now, I'm working on plans for a new building going into a zoo, intended to provide veterinary care to large animals. It's kind of a strange building, but it's a fun one.
■ Now THIS is a sandwich (vegetarians and the squeamish might not want to click that link). Harold's Deli, Edison, NJ. Their sandwiches come in large and extra large. This one was the large, and I'll probably get three more meals out of the corned beef that I brought home. The extra large is a wad of of lunch meat roughly the size of a large house cat, comically placed between two slices of bread. If any of you that don't live around here find yourselves in New Jersey, you have to make this a stop. You're in for a treat.
■ Weird movie that I finally got a chance to see recently. Fair warning, make sure any children are asleep before you watch this one:
