As luck would have it, I've been called to jury duty. I'm on a civil case (not allowed to divulge more details than that, sorry), and they're going through potential jurors trying to come up with 8 jurors that can decide this case impartiality. So far, I have been selected as a juror, but attorneys have the right to dismiss jurors before the case starts. And every time a juror is disqualified, they go through the potential juror's list for a replacement. The process thus far has been long, and incredibly boring.

Despite being in the middle of New Jersey's largest city, Essex County Courthouse is in a no-man's land of places to eat. Other than the crappeteria in the courthouse, everything is at least a few blocks away. And the crappeteria, as you can expect, is awful. Everything except for the salad was a starch bomb. And for the salad, there were no protein options available except for beans. So I got a salad with a ton of beans. I hope they don't cause any interesting gastrointestinal effects later.

This is a little awkward, because I just started my new job a week ago, and now unless I'm excused from the case, I'm going to be pulled out of work for four to six weeks. While it is illegal for my employer to retaliate against me for attending jury duty, it does make things a little weird. I left something half-completed at the office, and I might not be able to get back to it from awhile.

I'm still working with the therapist. It doesn't look like therapy will eliminate what I have, but it might help me manage the day-to-day issues of dealing wiith socializing. I'm going to continue with the therapist for now, as long as it may benefit me. And he doesn't think it's Aspergers, but there is likely an attention deficit problem.
