(no subject)

-It was worth it to wait until late at night to update my phone to IOS 7. My phone is pretty now, but it will take a little getting used to the new look and feel.

-Still at the new job. I like this place. I spoke to the owner, and so far he's hearing good things about me from the top people there. Looks like he'll start bennies at the end of the month, when I will have been there about a month.

First-world problems

Cross-posting, which I don't normally do, but I have to kvetch: Apple really laid an egg with IOS7.

Steve Jobs might have been a raging asshole, but at least he had a sense for making his user interface intuitive. Things had form. They looked like what they were trying to emulate. Things that were meant to be pressed looked like a button. The notifications screen looked like a bulletin board.

Now everything is flat and two dimensional. Everything blends into everything else. Contrast is poor and everything is too bright.

One bright spot: at least you can turn Wifi, Bluetooth, and airplane mode by swiping up, rather than digging through the settings screen.
