I replaced the spark plugs and both oxygen sensors, and I made sure the gas cap was closed all the way until it clicked. I also fixed my parking brake and replaced the little light bulb that shines down on my license plate.

Everyone, please pray to your respective deities that my Check Engine light doesn't turn on before I get my car inspected tomorrow morning.

I woke up bright and early this morning and got my car inspected. Miracle of miracles, the "Check Engine" light stayed off and I passed.

After work, since I just dumped $180 worth of parts and two evenings worth of labor into my car, I figured I'd give it a good road-test. So after work, I drove all the way past High Point to Port Jervis, NY. I was worried that the long steep upgrade on Route 23 would cause something to happen, but the Check Engine light did not come on. I was thinking I might have fixed it.

So as I'm driving back home on Route 206, all happy that I fixed my car, all of a sudden, a familiar yellow glow eminated from my dashboard. Yep, my check engine light came back on.

Moral of the story: Don't go jabbing at karma with a stick. :P

At least I'm inspected now, and I don't need to risk a ticket until the next time around. Or until my car finally falls apart, whichever comes first.
