Aug. 13th, 2007 12:14 amOn my great-uncle's passing:
About 25 years ago, my great uncle bought my grandmother a clock (the two are siblings). My grandmother had the clock until she moved to an assisted-living facility. When she moved, she gave most of her posessions to anyone that wanted them. I got that clock.
That clock kept perfect time all these years. When I moved last month, I unplugged the clock and moved it along with my other posessions. When I plugged the clock back in and tried to set it, something inside the mechanism snapped and the clock no longer worked.
A day after the clock broke, I got news that my great-uncle was in the hospital with two weeks to live.
Weird.
