"You have an important piece of my mail and no way for me to get it."

The company that owned my old apartment building sent me my deposit back (the full amount even!) via certified mail. If you aren't there when the mailman comes around, they leave a card with instructions on it in your mailbox. So I signed the card and left it where my mail carrier would see it and just deliver my certified mail the next day, just like the instructions said I could do. That signed note sat untouched at the front edge of my mailbox for a week. The other day, there was a second card in my mailbox which said if I didn't pick up my mail it would be delivered back to the sender on the 16th.
