From left to right: me in the corner; [livejournal.com profile] christessa; Vanessa and Bobby who I don't have tags for, Bobby is one of Chris's relatives; [livejournal.com profile] duckalmighty holding up a beer that he liked a lot; and [livejournal.com profile] jennie132, at some bar on South Street in Philadelphia Friday night.

The group of us spent the afternoon going into a bunch of the little shops on South Street. Then we went to one bar where we waited for 45 minutes only to be told we could have just gone to their half-empty room upstairs. But that was OK, because the hamoburger and Spanish Fries we had once we were seated more than made up for the wait.

After that, we got coffee and headed down to a bar on the corner of South St and 3rd St. (Seriously, I wish I wrote down the names of some of these places). We had beers while the jukebox blared bands like Life of Agony and Clutch all night (not the only stuff I listen to anymore, but it did bring me back quite a bit).

Fun times. I get to see people I don't see enough of in a place I don't get to spend much time in.

Lemme see, what's been going on that I haven't had time or energy to post about?

-Apparently, the makers of Cinnamon Toast Crunch decided to try their hand at French toast, dubbing their creation "French Toast Crunch." Not too bad, actually.

-For future reference, I know that if I don't hit traffic I can make it down to Philly in 1 3/4 hours. If I do hit traffic, the trip can take over 3 hours.

-Remember that giant beer bottle that used to be on top of the factory right off of Parkway exit 144? Last week, for the first time I noticed that it was gone. Another New Jersey icon relegated to history.

-Recently I picked up Mad Season, which was Layne Staley's (of Alice In Chains fame) little side project, and which I never really got a chance to hear all the way through. It was a really great album, and really showed Staley's talent outside of AIC. What can I say, the man was a great singer, one of many to become a rock tragedy.

I can't think of anything else, so I'll leave you all with that.
