We all know both sides of the story behind the Federal Marriage Amendment, so I don't need to repeat them here. What can I say, other that I'm glad common sense prevailed yet again over a few Jeebus freaks that want everyone to talk like them and walk like them and hate fags.
If you want to be religious, go to church (synagogue, whatever). If you really don't like same-sex marriages, don't get married to someone of the same sex. In any case, do not take a hot-button political issue and try to write it into the Constitution. And if you do want to write a hot-button political issue into the constitution, pick one that doesn't permanently trample the rights of a subset of society. That is just completely unconscienable.
I also fail to see how same-sex marriage threatens the traditional family. Straight people will continue to marry straight. Gay marriage is only intended to make things fair for gay couples that have the same responsibilities but not the same rights as straight couples. I don't see a mass exodus into homosexuality; that's just not how things work and everybody knows that.
Although I have to give the guy credit. He knows he has a snowball's chance in hell, and still he comes out a-swingin'. It would be comical if this guy wasn't our President.
