Sep. 5th, 2005 11:07 pmGas prices are high, but not high enough to blow a tankful of gas on a trip to my brother in Reading, PA. The high gas prices were a blessing in disguise: the normally heavy labor-day traffic was unusually light, and I got there and back without hitting any major obstacles. My bro and his girlfriend moved across town, so I helped him move and was repaid in pizza and beer. And I haven't gone anywhere in a few months, so it was nice to get out of Jersey for a bit.
Oh, and needless to say, I blew away my old record by $11. The most I ever paid to fill up the gas tank is $43. And once again, I cannot express how thankful I am that I do not drive an SUV. Maybe my next car will be a hybrid.
On the other hand, I saved a ton of $$ on a pair of shoes. They have a JC Penney outlet store in Reading. I found shoes for $25. At another store they were $50.
I hope gas prices come down by the end of the month, because I am supposed to go on a road trip/ vacation to Chicago with my brother and his girlfriend. Milwaukee, if we're bored. Maybe even Minneapolis, if we're really bored.
