Jun. 6th, 2005 08:38 pmAnyone that's been through Asbury Park in the last two decades knows the shore resort has declined and hit rock bottom. The local government is trying to rebuild some of the attractions, in the hopes of once again making the beachfront a viable tourist destination. Building a town is the logical progression of putting up a building, and as an architect, I am interested in seeing if they can make it work. Periodically, when I’m in that part of the state, I try to swing through town just to see what’s up.
I was in Asbury Park yesterday, and am pleased to report that a lot of progress that has gone on in rebuilding the town.
I hope the township can pull it off. I think they're moving in the right direction.
