Jan. 11th, 2005 08:04 pmI picked up an album by Porcupine Tree, "In Absentia." Excellent stuff, very progresive-rock, really mellow but also pretty heavy when it needs to be. It kind of sounds like Dream Theater, but with much better writing and production (Not that Dream Theater is bad, but I think they sound a little contrived at times). The album really does flow beautifully.
I almost clobbered some guy on today. I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to put a bunch of condo's on a four-lane divided road, right in the middle of an S-curve, and then have a cutout in the divider so people can turn left into and out of the complex. Long story short, he pulls out trying to make a left, and I almost hit him because I didn't see him. Folks, this is why we need planned developments. This way, instead of having a traffic light 1/10 mile down the road for a small strip mall, and a shit-your-pants turn out of the condos, they could have planned this properly and arranged the driveways so everybody could use the light. I'm really glad I didn't hit him, because I'm not up to getting into another accident after my last, er, mishap.
I'm still overworked as hell. I have an assignment at work that was due on Friday will not be done until tomorrow. I can't keep working at this pace, it's killing me.
